The following is a list of topics that should be studied and learnt before leaving for Hajj: Prayer - Salat
Most of us were taught how to prayer when we were kids.
We all believe we are praying properly, but when was the last time you actually went through all the actions of Prayer to ensure you were performing all the requirements of the Prayer. Or checked you were reciting all parts of your prayer correctly, e.g. the Fatiha?
This is somoething you should do before leaving for Hajj, where each Prayer is worth 100,000 times more.
The Funeral Prayer - Salat Al Janazah
Many people do not know what to say in the funeral prayer because its not a Prayer we pray often. In Hajj, you will pray the funeral prayer after every salat, and sometimes more than once after every salat.

The Six days of Hajj
Although you will probably stay in Meccah and Madinah for 3 or 4 weeks, the actual Hajj is completed over six of these days.
Learnn every about these six days, be familar with what is happening, the order they happen in and times and days each action needs to be performed on.
How to perform Umrah
Know all the steps and sublications involved by heart. Dont rely on your group leader, its very easy to get lost from your group durinng Umrah; and its not always easy to read off a paper while you are performing Umrah. So try learn everything by heart.
Ihram
Learn what is required of you to be in Ihram; what you are allowed and not allowed to do while you are in Ihram; and finally when you are required to be in Ihram.
Sublications - Du'a
Pick a few du'a and learn them by heart, you will have plenty of occasions to say these du'a and it follows much more natually if you know them by heart and know what they mean.
History & Background of Hajj
This is good to get good background knowledge of how Hajj all began and the significance behind each of the major rituals.
